Functions of a technical support analyst

The role of a technical support analyst is primarily to provide first level support for internal and remote personnel. Several aspects of the role of a technical support operator include response and attention of technical inquiries, proactively providing personalized service to customers, providing recommendations on company application purchases, helping with the installation and configuration of computer systems, improve and replace network hardware and solve computer problems. Other responsibilities may include workstation software support with patches, Internet connectivity, business applications and operating systems.

Key responsibilities:

The main responsibility of a technical support operator is to provide first-line support to end users who face software and hardware problems. The operator is the first point of contact for all computer and communication issues within an organization or between an organization and its customers. The operator determines the origin of the problem, solves them and offers appropriate solutions to the problems. The paper requires the person to serve as a liaison between customers and the technical department.

Other responsibilities

Technical support operators are employed in companies and by suppliers to develop other responsibilities that include the installation of hardware and software; contribute to the purchase management of applications and hardware; provide guidance and computer communication to new employees; train new staff members through the development of on-the-job training modules and update relevant systems when necessary. The operator is required to use his own initiative and operate under a minimum of supervision for internal efficiency. Having a positive approach to perform additional tasks when necessary is an advantage.
