Technology is born from a need or a phenomenon . The case of antibiotics is a good example of a technology that was born out of necessity.

Alexander Fleming worked as a doctor in World War I. Wounds were infected and soldiers often died from infections. After the war, Fleming began studying the bacteria, which were to blame for the infections.

One day he got some bacteria did not grow when there was a fungus in the crop. This phenomenon had already been seen by other people before Fleming. The difference was that Fleming saw the possibility of using this substance to treat bacterial infections . Antibiotic technology was born.
